.....I ask all of you to rise and give him the curtain call he so well

deserved. Thank you very much. And now I'd like to take this

opportunity to thank Marjorie for allowing me this chance to honor

her husband.

Q and A

Our first order of business after the Q and A was to find and

corner, Stephen T. Kay. The actor depicting our first FGC,

Reginald. So while Teresa was getting Brad Maule's signature on

the Chameleon cassette, I tracked Stephen to the autograph

tables. The lines were only just forming and I pushed past to just

quickly ask if he would do an interview for our Quantum Leap

publication. (He did a part in the episode "Permanent Wave".) He

agreed and said he'd meet us as the door. I quickly gathered up

Teresa and dragged her over. Stephen wasn't staying long.

We got the impression that, like Maurice, he wasn't very happy

about being in large pushy crowds. We joined him as we went out

the door. He seemed surprised that we would remember his small

role on QL. (In point of fact, we didn't. We saw QL listed in his

credits and had the PQL Pres. look him up in her database. This

pulled up "Permanent Wave", but he wasn't in the USA version we

have. We had to go back to the script in order to find his

character, Ralph.) We also told him that we had every "Deadly

Games" on tape. He said something along the lines of being

disappointed that the show had been cancelled just as it was

getting better. Then we moved into the lobby area to

set the tape recorder down for the interview. We have a witness

for all this, y'know, Kathryn Bassett, The Genealogy Chick joined

us at this point.

Stephen T. Kay Interview

One of the celebrities we were determined to meet was the actress

portraying our newest FGC, Carly. To this end I stood up on a

chair to see where it was that Sarah Brown was sitting. She and

Stephanie Dickers who plays Gina were at the same table and,

fortunately for us, their line wasn't quite as lengthy as Jon

Lindstrom's and Lynn Herring's. So we went to stand in the line

that was less than straight. Really, it was difficult to tell where

anyone's line started and ended. We get the distinct impression that

some people didn't know who the heck they were standing in line for.

Anyhow we made it up there and handed her the top ten list (Top Ten

Reasons We Like Carly) and explained that we were part of FGC

Carly on the Internet. She said, and we quote, "I thought it was MHGC."

If we understood her correctly, a friend of hers had gone on-line and

collected the notes about Carly... the MHGC notes... and given them

to her. We quickly explained that FGC was Favorite General

Hospital Character and that Carly did have her proponents and fans

on the net. She was thrilled and read the list aloud right there.

She seemed to like the "knows how to treat a man" reason

and the number one "she's got spunk". We both had our pictures

taken with her She was very sweet and very happy to receive our

support.

We'd like to give you the general impressions we have of Sarah

Brown (not,of course, necessarily gospel). She seems to be a very

nice young lady. As a generation-x-er she is aware of Cyberspace

and it's importance, but does not herself spend much, if any time

in it. She lives with her mother, but has lived out on her own.

She is we think slightly shell-shocked by the negative fan

reaction. Understandable since, before this, she was a VR Trooper.

The fan reaction for that would have been the enthusiastic

admiration and affection of children. Suddenly she is now in the

position of being reviled by GH fans. Quite an adjusment. Which

is why we intend to pass on to her all the positive notes about

Carly. We don't want people thinking that the Internet is all

hate-notes and negativity. To this day, despite our non-admiration

of his acting, we hope that Ricky Martin NEVER got a look at some

of the notes here on RATSA.
